These are really interesting policies.

You pay an overarching monthly fee, and then you pay per miles driven.

So I might pay $50 a month, and then I pay $6 for every mile driven, for example.

The big thing here to know is they're not going to give you this policy without giving a close eye to how you're driving.

They're not like, we trust you that you're telling us how much you're driving.

If you want a pay-as-you-go policy, they're in your car.

They're going to use telematics to figure out how you're driving, why you're driving, when you're driving.

They're going to closely monitor you.

So what you're going to get for potentially cheaper policy is a lot of oversight.

And you may have some concern about how close they're tracking to you.

They're not going to just trust you about the amount you're driving.

So none of these are in a vacuum.

And if you're going around to call on your car rate, you should be looking at your overall policies.

What is my home or renter's insurance?

Do I have items insurance for jewelry or televisions insurance?

Do I have life insurance?

What is my sort of like broader insurance profile?

You got to look at this whole thing in totality.

Price is really important.

You want to pay a fair price for insurance, but you do have to ask what you're paying for.
