I think a long time ago it was a discovery that the best way for the body to be is cross, because I think you have to make yourself big on stage, of course it helps for six foot three, but just making yourself bigger, but there's just a sort of freedom of the movement of the body.
And I do think performance poetry is text, voice, body and face, really, or face and body.
And those are the, in a sense, those are the canvases, that is the fun.
And why not, in a sense?
I haven't directed a play.
I've written a couple of plays.
Tell them I may never do it.
I still mourn the complete... In a sense, it wasn't the fiasco in the first play, but...
Yeah, I just wish me and the director had been in the same room at some point in May and June of that year.
But it was kind of marvellous, but it was a kind of heart attack and a trauma to watch this thing.
Well, there's just the idea that you can have an idea, you can go a long way with material before you've even got your best idea yet.
You know, you can, in a sense, and if you have to, if I had to explain to someone, even at this stage, what I'm after with my show for this summer, the one that starts in June,
I would have trouble.
