It has a possibility of opening up a different kind of conversation about birthright citizenship and for that matter, how we feel about who gets to be an American in this country.

Yeah, following it very closely because I think what immediately strikes people are the optics.

I mean, as you mentioned a second ago, Don, everything in this country is about race, whether we can run for that all we want, but that's just the truth.

And I think a lot of people are reacting, especially black folks, with a raised eyebrow or two raised eyebrows because

one of the photos that have circulated are the people he was with on the boat.

And so he's the only Black person on this boat.

It's a bunch of white people.

And everybody's wondering, OK, how do you go missing?

I believe this happened on the 4th of July.

How do you go missing that afternoon and no one seeing you?

You get separated from one of your friends that you were there with.

And no one knows what happened.

And so immediately sort of like the spidey senses go up.

And especially since there have been other cases of where you had black people in a situation where they were the minority and came up missing or dead.

And so I think there's just a raised antenna right now where we're trying to get to the bottom of like what happened to this young man.

And I certainly don't want to

I don't want to indict the people that he was with.

You know, I'm not a detective on the ground.

We're only going by the information that we've been told.

But seeing that photo right there, there's going to be some skepticism, some weariness, some fear.
