Trump is asking Americans to tighten their belts, to shell out for this war.

He's asking Americans to risk their lives and the lives of their family members, all while his family appears to be getting rich off of this war.

He's a Marine veteran and a member of the House Armed Services Committee.

Congressman, thank you for being with us.

I do want to ask you, as a member of the House Armed Services Committee, have you been briefed about this fighter pilot who is missing at the moment?

It's a serious matter, though, because Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth have been carrying on for weeks about how we've got complete control of the skies over Tehran.

I mean, it's not just saying it in a military way.

They're talking about the fact that the planes can go anywhere, go where they want.

Nobody can actually hit us.

And then a plane gets hit.

I understand this is war.

Bad things happen.

But it does not seem like these folks in the White House or in the Defense Department are able to deliver the seriousness with which we need this treated.

Let's talk.

The most truthful thing that's happened might be this budget proposal, because because they're actually saying the quiet part out loud.

You can't lie about the budget when you say this is the money you want to spend on something.

And when you say, like Donald Trump did, that this is the money we're not going to spend on.
