The legal complaint slams Dollar Tree for failing to maintain basic safety, alleging the walk-in freezer lacked a functional internal emergency release or alarm.

Sanchez, a specialist in congenital heart disease who dedicated her life to saving children, was left to die alone in the dark.

While Miami PD currently suspects no foul play, detectives are investigating if mental health or personal issues played a role in her entering the restricted area.

The family, though, insists the store's failure to conduct a proper closing sweep turned a routine shopping trip into a death sentence.
