No, and certainly peak is one of the most important times of year for many warehouse operators.
Most of the ones that are ordering more robots for peak season have already been using them to some degree because they don't want to risk a technological blowout that would delay packages and keep people from getting their gifts on time.
Well, warehouse distribution and online fulfillment is still largely a non-automated process.
And even some big fulfillment providers that do use technology say that they still think it's more efficient to just add human workers for peak than to ramp up automation.
So it's a choice that different people are making.
But it's interesting how the scarcity of labor really is accelerating interest in technology in a sector that was pretty unautomated even just a couple years ago.
