If you're a female, you've got a backup.
So having a backup is really good.
Very handy.
I was invited to write a book about 35 or 40 years ago, but I never had time.
But then I had a brain bleed, a near fatal brain bleed, and I couldn't see and I couldn't walk and it was going to be 18 months later.
And I thought, I'm going to go potty in this 18 months.
I can't even watch the Australian Open because I can't see the tennis ball.
So I thought, well, I can touch type and I can think.
And so I can write this book that I've been hounded about for ages.
It was going to be very thin little book because we didn't actually know very much.
It was going to be about the structure of the Y chromosome, the evolution of the Y chromosome and about X chromosome inactivation
and about how SRY does sex.
So it was kind of three little books in one.
But unfortunately, well, unfortunately for the book, I got better.
And I had to run the department for some years.
So the poor old book got shelved.
And by the time I picked it up again, everything had just changed so much.
That was the 90s.
And we had mainly information from the Human Genome Project with gene mapping information.
