Um we've also uh one of my favorite things that I like to talk to people about as part of Open Valley Urban Eco Sanctuary, we're doing this project, which is sycamore removal along the creek, and that addresses our um creek restoration plan.
But something that is also addressing waste minimization.
Once you fell these trees, you have a bunch of logs sitting around and people can use them for firewood, of course, or mulch them.
But one thing that we
Decided to do this year was we took some of those logs and we inoculated them with mushrooms so that we can then repurpose that and hopefully they will grow into something that we can share with either our ChiPantry or with our Chi Share program.
So we have a lot of those little initiatives that come up, and when we see an opportunity or we have somebody that comes to us with an

initiative, a community member, you know, we listen and we see what we can do and how we can address those

Uh and you know, I have an education background and a science background and so these are things that I'm very passionate about.
And so when I can help people
Or find experts that can help people learn about these various things that will that does move up the waste hierarchy and that will help them not just be more sustainable for the environment but more sustainable for their own, you know, pocketbook, you know, that sort of thing.
Absolutely we want to be able to provide that.
And um I it's one of the things that I I quite enjoy about working at Valley Project and for Open Valley Urban Eco Sanctuary.
