Love it.
Yeah I think in hindsight he'll maybe regret it but I think at the time when there's so much at stake you maybe go into the office you see the decision and then everybody starts texting you and you have that all built up in your head when there's so much at stake I think you can understand there's a frustration there but it's the choice of words isn't it but at the same time as you being a manager sometimes you go through the emotions and looking back you regret some things
now they maybe lacked a slight cutting edge in some of the games that followed they had too many draws but I actually don't think it took them very long at all because if we say if you want to use that straight away game number one of the season you could see exactly what you could see what he was trying to do I think the difference between going into Celtic and going into Motherwell is at Motherwell because they never had been associated with that style of play the belief maybe takes a bit longer whereas if you were going into Celtic because the players believe they want to play from the back they want to control games I don't think the belief takes as long as it would at Motherwell but what I would say is I think
people have compared it to Wilfred Nancy and maybe other guys coming in under a different set of circumstances but I bet you any money if Jens Berto Askew got the Celtic job he would already have had the respect to get into the building because there's no way the Celtic players wouldn't have appreciated what he'd done
To be honest, I've been listening to be honest with the thoughts on Martin O'Neill obviously for next season and we all love Martin O'Neill as Celtic fans.
I'd be honestly delighted if he took it on again next season.
However, if there's not a...
complete candidate in mind at this point, then I think he definitely should get the job for another year until we get the candidate that we want in place, rather than going for an ASCU or the likes.
I think when you talk about it being screwed with Brendan Rodgers, I think he had a relationship with them at the time as well.
I think at the same time that was a moment where Celtic had to get the appointment right so whatever they were willing to pay Brendan Rodgers they were going to do it because the Rangers were obviously coming back into the league and Celtic wanted to go and lay a marker Brendan Rodgers came in and totally changed Celtic and for the better they went that season and unbeaten fantastic but with an Eddie Howe it's completely different because he can come out a Newcastle job he just has to wait for six months and a big job comes up again
down south he will be one of the names thrown in the hat and there's no getting away from it he's done a really good job at Newcastle they're now having to manage obviously the PSR and all those things that come with that but for me it would be a real long shot I appreciate Paul we always do this and the word if like Carrie it does a lot of heavy lifting but just because of how delicate everything ended at the end of the season
Do you think he transformed it?
I just think he kind of simplified it.
Is it not?
Do you know what I mean?
So you can go from overplaying to transforming it into a simpler way of playing football.
And I think Wilfred Nancy was trying to do something that was over the top.
So we never do anything quickly, but at the end of the day, we always usually end up at the top.
Amazing and I think for obviously all kids who grow up in Scotland and come through different set ups he came through St Mirren
in these pathways being St Mirren and ends up at Hibs does fantastically well comes in the championship goes down to Aston Villains just went strength to strength it's one of those things a real pivotal moment and a right good time for us as a national team obviously he's going to be going there full of confidence and
