I look at it actually from my perspective as that being equal to the average

salary of the average Singaporean, right?

Of one year's income.

I think that's a good way of thinking about it, which is like, you know, some people might say, Hey, you know, having a child can take somebody away from the workforce for a year, right?

For the average Singaporean.

And so seventy thousand dollars for somebody who is of high income is a nice

bonus or sweetener.

But I think for somebody who earns seventy thousand dollars or maybe less.

Uh, this is equivalent to one year's compensation or two years or even three years compensation.

And I think it's really quite game changing as a

source of uh relief I'll say.

And I think a minimum I think

I trust that families and parents know best about how to deploy those financial resources for the kids.

You know it's tailored towards their education.

Yeah, supplies, the childcare and family expenses like food and even just going on holiday as a family together.

I mean, I think there's all these things that the family needs to do.

And I think there's a good income redistribution effect that should be acknowledged.

Uh, that will still happen regardless of whether it improves uh total fertility rate.

Yeah.
