And if you really want to do it, I'll support you and I'll buy you a ticket and you can go to Chicago and visit your father and visit America.
Took a week, came back to her and I said, yes, I want to do it.
I didn't speak a word of English.
She bought me a basketball, packed the duffel bag, put me on the plane, got off at O'Hare Airport.
And I still remember that feeling.
I was like, well, this is home.
I'm never leaving again.
It took about a month for me to build up the courage to tell my mom that I didn't want to come home.
And again, she told me, you know, take a week to think about it.
And if this is something that you really want to do, I'll support you in it.
