Mark Hayden, as you know, was never con he was charged but never convicted of any murders, so he's serving his time for assisting offenders.
James Volzakis was abused by his own father.

And then he was abused by a pedophile who lived up the street because his drug-affected mother wasn't awake up to what was going on.
And then he was taken in by, as luck would not have it for James Vlasarkis, a serial killer.
But at the end of the day, and I know it's easy to say, but he could have ended it at some point by picking up the phone and calling for help and not actively being involved in murder.

Telling the story of how the victims came to be in the place they were and why it is that
that their vanishing wasn't noticed or the alarm wasn't raised sooner.
I think that had to be done to be fair to them.
And I think if if you allow yourself to look at this case and write these people off as as no hopers or pedophiles, well that's what John Bunting thought about them.

I was on the day the Snowtown story broke.
Well, the second day, really, because it was secret for the first day.
But I went there, you know, when the wave of media arrived.
And so I was there for, oh, I think it was a couple of weeks.
Yeah, look, I think the context was important because in some of these cases, it would be easy to blame the victims in some way for what happened to them.
