How are you feeling?
Yeah, I mean, well, congrats from all of us at Radio 2, because you're the first winner of our first award.
So you're very special to us.
And it's, I won't say the book is dark, but it is, it's a hard reality for your central character that she's had to leave her home, isn't it?
That's where it starts.
Well, I think it's really interesting that this phrase, coercive control, isn't something we were really using 20 years ago.
Of course, there were those men around then.
But we're seeing these characters a lot in books by, let's say, Lisa Jewell and people like that.
And it's not necessarily involving violence.
That's the interesting thing.
And it's probably not my business to ask, but does it come from something in your own life, the experience of a friend or something that you've read about or what?
