And I remember he goes, do you have a valid passport?
And I was like, absolutely, I do, even though I did not.
He goes, good, because I'm going to make you a world class speaker like you're coming with me.
And I was just euphoric.
I'm like, called my mom.
I'm like, you're not going to believe it.
I met Bill.
He picked me like he selected me and he's going to make me the thing that I want to become.
I waited by the phone, waited, never heard from him again.
And it was this moment where I was like, oh, well, that was my ticket.
Like that external thing, that person selecting me was the thing that was going to get me to where I wanted to go.
And so you kind of feel like you were holding the lottery ticket and the wind blew.
You're like, man, that was it.
so then i had a choice where i'm like okay do i just let that be the deciding factor or do i keep being consistent keep getting the mic wherever i can and then that's when i started teaming up with other women who were also speaking let's watch each other's footage let's refer each other and then i started getting the reps and eight years later i was speaking at an event and
Bill was speaking there.
Just so you know.
And I realized in that moment, I was standing in the spot that I thought only Bill could get me to.
And I got there through my own intrinsic work, my own getting the reps, consistency, and teaming up with other women.
And so I, for a long time, thought success was being selected.
You know, someone else would pick me and tell me that I was, you know, would endorse my book, would do this.
