But I think after the way he played uh in that debut, certainly, you know, he can do whatever he wants.
He looked pretty good, I thought.
You know, I I I see a a similar timeline.
It kind of reminds me of my fourth year on the Giants when Kurt Warner started the year.
But we had drafted Eli Manning first overall and it was sort of understood, hey, look, we're we're gonna let a former two-time MVP take us as far as he can.
But as soon as you sort of get behind that eight ball somewhere around the fourth, fifth, sixth game, you start sort of trailing in the division race, you just make
the switch and I think certainly Kirk Cousins deserves to start.
And by the way, we're a lot of people talking about Fernando Mendoza.
It Kirk Cousins also looked fantastic.
He only had one drive in that game, but he looked like Kirk.
And if he's able to stay healthy, I think he can operate inside that offense.
But you also you you just love sort of what you see from Mendoza.
You don't want to overhype it.
It is the preseason and you know that there's a lot of different variables and factors there.
But I thought just in terms of his decisiveness, throwing the ball with conviction, I thought ball placement and accuracy, uh particularly on the touchdown throw, kind of putting it low in a way and protecting the receiver, I think were all really, really good signs um, you know, for Raiders fans, no question.
But, you know, yeah, I think a another reason why a lot of people are making a big deal about that is because I saw that it's the first time a first pick, first pick of the draft.
