There was no problem with it.

Danny Werfel didn't have a problem with it.

Steve Spurer didn't have a problem with it.

I remember asking Coach Spurer on my official visit, could I wear the number seven if I come here?

Because at the Myers Riders, the Redskins, the Ottawa Norsemen, the PN Rams back in Ontario at as a kid growing up, that's all I wore.

And he said, absolutely, it's just a number.

Now there there are different thoughts on that, and whether that's fair, whether that's not, or the traditions of college football.
