Exactly.
So this one was three times higher than the ambient wave.
So the regular waves that are nearby, this one was three times higher than that.
And there's been a couple that have been recorded in prior years.
The first one was 1995.
And that one was larger, technically.
It was 26 meters high, but it was only two times higher than the surrounding waves.
So it wasn't as extreme.
This one
three times higher than the surrounding waves just out of nowhere and the the the question is you know where are these coming from the answer they don't have the answer to that i don't know if you read the story if you read the article there's you can find your way into a rabbit hole of possible rogue waves on wikipedia which is a really interesting read on on the devastating effects of possible rogue waves over the many many years that we've been trying to get a handle on this so anyway
The short part of the story here is that a really large wave was seen, and they can have devastating effects that could even be dangerous on the coast, although usually that's a tsunami, not these rogue waves.
And we have no idea how they form.
And the only thing I can think about as a scientist, when you have a big body of water, a big fluid with...
uh, wind patterns over top of it.
And I think that they, you have energy systems below, you have energy systems above.
And every once in a while, uh, the wave nature of water will just compound with each other.
They'll add, the waves will add to, to together.
And you'll just get this one chance where the, the waves add and the troughs get really deep.
Yeah.
No, I think that's my prediction as well, because, you know, there's tons of wave issues happening on the surface.
