Like we were coming out of an ice age, right?
And other animals went extinct around the same time as well.
I suppose, yeah, overhunting could happen, but I don't think they're able to put the finger on it that closely.
All they're able to say with this DNA is that this wolf cub DNA of the woolly rhino was so close to the extinction point of around 14,000 years that they're able to say up until the extinction point, there wasn't much diversity decline.
The universe is always offering us ways to answer questions.
And I love it.
Just like you find the stomach of a wolf pup and you can like talk about the extinction of an entire other animal.
Oh my gosh, so this is such an interesting story for me, because I'm a parent twice now, like we have two kids.
And one of the things I'm always thinking about is like how much I'm allowing my kids to be risky.
they're young.
There's like a, I have a one year old and a four year old.
And like, I want them to like do risky things because they need to learn coordination and they need to learn how to like jump and fall.
And, and if they get slightly hurt, how to pick themselves back up.
These are all important things for, for humans.
Um, and so,
the scientists in this story noting that humans, around our teenage years, in the adolescent years, humans get way more risky.
We start doing way more risky things.
And it's also noticed that it's more males doing it than females.
So this is well-documented surveying.
