I love writing films.

I must have seen a thousand films before I saw my first play.

I just adore it.

It's a huge influence on me.

um, always, it was something I always wanted to do.

And so the fact that I'm still doing it now and, uh, it's fun to do.

And the fact that I get to do things like, you know, I wrote the John Lennon, uh, part of, of that, uh, whatever it's called, quartet of, uh, it's probably a word for it, tetralogy or something.

And, uh, and I, um, you know, it was a chance to,

uh commune with something that have been important to me since i was the youngest member of a family singing into a hoover when i was four you know the songs mean mean so much to me and and i like to to to choose subjects that i feel uh i can bring some of that idea of what is uh

what has the chills to it has the goosebumps to it and and if i can't then i then i don't get involved it's like a completely different sport though it's it's like writing a play and writing a film i could talk about all night but it's it's like like if i do a play on broadway and i drive out to the airport the further i get towards you know as i'm driving through um uh

queens or whatever you know no one knows no one knows that the play is on in broadway but everyone knows that you know f1 is on you know up the up the road or you know or or 4v4 or edge tour or whatever you know they they're the people would see that and it's that would have been me age age 16 i wouldn't be going to broadway i'd be i'll be watching rocky four yeah right

Well, I had two extraordinary meetings among many.

One was with Paul McCartney and the other was with Sean Lennon in the Dakota.

And at both events, something really extraordinary happened.

I was in the Dakota in the living room there and I'm sitting two feet away from the piano from Imagine, the white piano.

It's like right next to my head here and I'm sitting in one of the white chairs that he was photographed in by Annie Leibovitz.

The piano there, open window over there and Central Park on the other side and Sean had gone out to make a call or something and suddenly very loud...

We've been talking about two hours and I was telling him what I wanted to do with it.

Very loud in Strawberry Fields, someone started playing Don't Let Me Down.

I have chills actually, just like... And the strings of the... It was quite loud.
