Step one is we have so many thoughts all day long that are just running on default and we're not even consciously aware of them and they pop up and they come from our inner critic and they come from that part of ourselves that says we can't do this or this isn't for people like me or I didn't grow up with this or that or I don't have the credentials for this.
The good enough piece, which like plagues so many of us.
Then you get to do the work of changing them.
and eventually retrain my brain to know that I want to choose this other narrative for myself.
Jamie, you are going so deep.
I have never had this in-depth conversation.
I've actually never said that out loud to anybody in an interview before.
You know how to get there.
Okay, so I wrote this book, I really wanted people to know my story.
And so it's part memoir, it's part self help prescriptive.
But it's a lot of memoirs, a lot of my journey.
And I just felt that there was this gap between my online persona, people know me as spirit daughter, they see this
beautiful, curated Instagram feeds, beautiful life.
And I wanted people to really know the truth, the real, raw, messy journey of how I got to be Spirit Daughter.
And so for people who are in their own messy journey, I want them to feel inspired when they read this book to say, okay, like this, if Jill did this with her life, I can do this too.
Mm-hmm.
And so it just felt like a really good moment and a calling to kind of close that gap between what people know about me and see about me, that kind of like polished version and, you know, my journey and be inspired by it.
I wanted to share the during, not just the after.
I share them.
I share everything.
