It's not really a factor in like arena drafts.

I think that like general consensus on our team is that like in this play booster era where the packs are just so good and the cards are so powerful that staying open is super fine.
You know,
For a lot of guys on the team, we drafted 20 years ago.
You go draft Odyssey and it's hard to get 23 playables.
You know, like there are just some truly rancid cards in the pack.
You know, Odyssey has like four Stone Rain variants of Common or something like that, you know, or just like Earth Rift and Demolish and whatever, you know.
So back then, people would lock it a little sooner because you just couldn't risk
not having a playables these days, every card is playable, you know, to the point where like, you know, that card is mediocre.
It'd be a disaster to play it, even though it is a three, three flyer for four or whatever, you know?
So I think that because of that, you can be so much more flexible in your drafts.
You can just like,
I'll say it up front, just take the best card for the first five picks.
Just blinders on, take the best card, don't think about it, and then pick six, look at what you have, and kind of go from there.
Just don't get locked in.
Not as extreme, and it's definitely format dependent as well, but to an extent, yes.
I think in Lorwyn, Lorwyn was a block where you just had to get in the right deck.
You know, you really want to make sure you're in the right deck because there's so many cards that were so good that no one can use but you if you're in the right deck.
So pivoting pick eight of pack one was like, okay, if you were pretty sure you're going to get into it, you know?
