The timeline is so generous for a high school player to have a bad year or have an injury, lose a year, and then come back and be fine.
Like Colson Montgomery kind of had to wander through the wilderness a bit, but he still...
He's got plenty of time ahead of him because they drafted him out of high school.
And so he had a forgiving timeline to be able to struggle and figure it out.
And so I tend to lean towards younger players if possible.
However, Rock Cholowski, the defense is really, really strong, legit shortstop.
He comes in with that high floor because of it.
I think he's got more power that he's shown, so...
Also a fine pick.
Like I think between those two, I don't think I would say I want Emerson.
It'd be a mistake if they didn't draft him like Cholowski.
There's a great case for him and it'd be fine if they drafted him as well.

And that's the other thing about this draft is they have just so much money because of the first overall pick, because they're still picking high in every other round.
That's a lot of money to play with, move around.
So it's not all about 1-1.
Gonzalez has the shakiest case just because of redundancy, especially if they draft Chalowski, say, and all of a sudden you have a shortstop or a middle infielder because they have so many shortstops that they have to move around somewhere.
Throw in Caleb Bonamer as well, that it's just hard to see Gonzalez finding a position.
Like second base, like Antonacci could move there.
