Obviously, when I was in my 20s, I was bowling quite a lot before the game, trying to warm up and make sure that I'm still working at my game and trying to
bowl well, whereas now I pretty much know what I can do with the first ball of the game.
I know it's going to be there or thereabouts.
I think I bowled 34 overs this week, or 33 overs.
Every single ball was in the game, whereas the other lads, like George Balderson, bowled I think 45 overs, but actually for the week would have been over 50 because he'd have bowled warm-up balls before the day's play.
I just feel like you get to a point where you don't want to be wasting balls
warming up if you don't have to.
And there's other ways of getting loose and getting warm.
So I'll do a lot of stretches before I go out and make sure my body's in a good place.
So I found that interesting.
So this week I'll be doing exactly that.
The next three days at home, ice bath, sauna.
If you want to carry on doing what you love doing and you want to be like, I wouldn't want to carry on playing cricket if I was...
deteriorating if that makes sense so to stay to keep my standards high I know that I've got to find things to help me keep doing what I'm doing so it's it's I read loads of stuff about athletes that have gone into their 40s and what they might do for recovery what they might do for strength work or things that can
you know, help you prevent injuries or keep your body feeling fresh.
And then you trial stuff and you see what works for you.
And where I'm at at the minute is six pints of Guinness in an ice bath.
