I try not to edit myself nearly as much as I did when I was younger.
And that's because you just never know where you're going to find the interesting part of that story.
You just have no idea where, you have no idea what it's going to be.
You have a concept, and you think the outcome's not going to be interesting enough, but the journey is where the meat and potatoes is, and you've got to remember that.
How you do a technique, even if you're going to do a technique that you know you've done a hundred times, you're like, how can I make this a little bit more interesting?
How can I make this a learning experience for me and the audience?
So it's important to go down those journeys, even though you think you know the final outcome.

The breakthrough happened for me when I did the treasure chest.
You guys remember I did like a simple treasure chest.
Dave Welder was my cameraman.
And I made this simple treasure chest.
I thought of it.
10 minutes before we started filming.
I was like, oh, let me make a treasure chest.
I'll plasma cut the steel, fold it up like cardboard, put wood inside.
The video took me about an hour and a half, two hours to make.
And it was a huge video for them.
It got hundreds of thousands of views in the first week, which is what it always seemed like it used to do.
It doesn't do that for me anymore.
