And I would, in a safe way, bring up the teeth and say,

Would you be open to me fixing your teeth and helping you with your smile?

And I did it in a manner that was positive and reassuring.

And I had a couple of wins way back in 1983 when I opened the first Jimmy John's.

And so I'd give an individual a smile.

My first one was an old woman by the name of Winola Grant.

And I think she's passed away now.

And it was a situation where, long story short, I did a total rebuild of her smile.

And she went on to be my, you know, she worked for me for like seven years in Charleston, Illinois.

And I said, boy, this is interesting how people get passed over because of how they look.

And I needed people and I needed good people.

And because people get passed over because they're judged the way I was judged as a fat kid.

I mean, back in the early days and you go into a restaurant by yourself and you're a fat guy, they put you back in the corner, you know, upstairs.

And if you walk into a restaurant and you're a beautiful person, they put you right in front and showcase you.

That was my life.

So long story short,

My journey of helping people, I needed help at Jimmy John's as I started helping by fixing teeth.

So move the ball forward.

I opened up that first store in Charleston and replaced myself.

And Winola was the manager there.
