You devote yourself to understanding what drives people to extremism and terrorism.

And the way you went about doing this must have taken so much courage to actually go and meet people who had had extremist, dangerous extremist views and talk to them.

Were you worried about doing that?

So much trust, I think, from San Athenians to believe that people could change.

There was a lot resting on this meeting.

So by the time you met him, he changed his views.

It wasn't just that moment, was it?

I mean, you went on to meet many other former extremists from the far right, from the far left.
