Was marriage always on your cards, Jo?
After you've spent a day teaching meditation inside the prison, inside Rikers, Jo, and you walk back out through all those gates, hearing them all close behind you, leaving those men there, what's it like to be back on the outside again?
In the obvious senses, there are so many differences between you and them.
You know, you get to leave.
They're locked inside.
You're not a violent criminal.
Many of them have committed violent acts.
They're men, you're a woman, but are there ways that you feel connection?
Are there places that you see yourself in them?
