Yeah, I got a terrible shock at the time because...

in the most remarkable of ways.

I was in Harald's Cross.

I had torn my meniscus and then discovered that it was a blocked nerve in my spine which was causing the whole thing.

And before I have the procedure,

They suggested I went into Harold's Cross where there was an excellent physio and, you know, that I'd get strong for it.

And I'd been in to see Brenda in James's.

I couldn't find her.

And finally...

One of the nurses said to me, she's in palliative care.

And I said, what's she doing in palliative care?

She's to myself, she's hurt her back.

And that was the first I knew of it.

And my second week in Harrods Cross, the doctor rang me and said, your friend Brenda is two floors below you.

in the hospice, in the palliative care section.

I mean, it was... Because Brenda, you know, for all that Brenda's falling, she really was someone who'd get up and go again.

And also, with Brenda, she'd kind of tell you a fairytale version of things sometimes.

And I was thinking...

oh, I wonder now, come on, Fricker, is that the absolute?
