gives you an indication of where this is going.
And it is very much related, Steve, to the models breaking containment and going out onto the internet and hacking into other sites.
So as we reported early last week,
you had an open AI model that two models actually that basically were in a sandboxed environment, a controlled environment within the labs.
And they were prompted, of course, this was a,
a test to see what sort of cyber attack capabilities they had.
They were prompted to hack into systems, but the models were not supposed to have access to the internet.
They found access.
They basically hacked their way into access through a third-party proxy, and it broke out.
And apparently, as the news has unfolded, apparently for almost a week,
were running rogue.
Within the company, no one had noticed, so the story goes, that these models were going rogue across the internet.
Yeah.
So according to the story, according to OpenAI, they had no idea that for about a week, models that were being tested for cybersecurity
offense capabilities were running rogue across the internet uh one of the high profile attacks the only one that has been published so far the others are unnamed uh attacks but that was hugging face a repository for code and other data sets and they were these models we're not talking about just like a single hack attempt in each one of these we're talking about tens of thousands of autonomous
attempts.
These are agentic AIs.
