But as you start to see them trying to rebuild this Mets team in David Stearns' image, you're seeing what he wants.

He wants flexible, athletic baseball players on short-term deals.

This is the epitome of what David Stearns would like to do.

Now, does it make them better?

Right now, it's hard to say it does.

You got to see where the plan is.

But we'll get to Michael King as it sounds like he's going to limit himself to the American League East.

And we'll get to my idea and my thoughts on his connection still to the New York Yankees.

But it sounds like the Mets aren't interested in any of these pitchers in free agency.

It sounds like they're going to have to make big-time trades.

They have to impact the rotation in some way.

They're open to trading Tong.

They have prospects to trade, no doubt.

But, I mean, I don't know where this goes.
