Now, there's a lot of rumors to the idea they could trade with the Padres.

If they bring in the closer there in San Diego, if they bring in Mason Miller,

Now you have replaced, in my mind, Diaz has actually been better and more consistent over the last handful of years, but Mason Miller is one of the best relievers in baseball without question.

You bring him in, you have done as good a job as possible.

in replacing Edwin Diaz.

That would be a move I would absolutely applaud.

Miller and Williams in your bullpen is a legitimate back end of the bullpen, no doubt.

Now, it's going to take a ton to get him because of his value and how he pitches and the control he has, the control you have over him over the next, I think, three more years.

So it's going to take a massive haul.

But that reshapes your bullpen for the next couple of years.

I love him.

So that would be a major piece for the Mets if there's some smoke to that fire about trading with San Diego.

Could they move Lindor and really break up this core completely?

Like, I don't know what's next, but losing Pete, losing Diaz, not looking to improve the rotation via the free agency, not wanting to give Bellinger the contract he wants right now, waiting to see if people come back to you.

The Mets weren't supposed to be the team that waits for the players to come back to them.

They're supposed to be the team that's aggressive and gets who they want.

And clearly, they didn't want Pete.

I think they messed up with Diaz.

And they wanted Jorge Polanco to come play first base.

And again, this year was great.
