And women's hockey team USA and Canada played a thriller with Megyn Keller scoring an overtime goal to give the U.S.
a 2-1 victory and the gold medal.
Hilary Knight, appearing in her fifth and final Olympics, forced the extra period by tying the game with just 2-0-4 remaining in regulation.
And Alyssa Liu won the United States its first women's figure skating Olympic gold medal in 24 years.
Liu, a 20-year-old from the San Francisco Bay Area, is the first American woman to stand atop the figure skating podium since Sarah Hughes did so in 2002.

The United States and Canadian hockey teams had to sweat it out on Wednesday, but both are moving on to the semifinals of the tournament.
Team USA defeated Sweden 2-1 in overtime thanks to a goal from Quinn Hughes after the Swedes forced the extra period with a late goal in the third.
now moves on to face Slovakia on Friday.
Earlier in the day, Canada rallied to defeat Czechia 4-3 in overtime, sending the top seed into the semis to face Finland.
The gold medal match will be played Sunday from Milan.
