All right, you're not a therapist, but you absolutely are someone who sees the emotional dynamics that most people ignore.
Use that.
But do so wisely, strategically, and most importantly, compassionately.
then log off and go do something that fills you back up.
You've sure as hell earned it.
Okay, kids, let's get something straight here.
Just because you've got UX or product design in your title does not mean people are gonna listen to you.
I know, shocking.
You could be the most qualified person in the room, right?
And you could be the only one thinking holistically.
You could be the only person who has some actual user or customer data.
You know, to base their their opinions and decisions on.
And they still might not listen to you.
That's frustrating, it feels personal.
But it's not.
It's not personal, it's structural, okay, it's cultural, it's historical, and and of course, it's political.
The hard truth here is that trust is not ever automatically granted to UXtra Design folks, no matter how much lip service the organization gives to those things.
That trust is earned.
