If the suspension is over a certain number of days, you could then have the potential for a recall petition and a second by-election.
I am sure that that is Nigel Farage's theory of how he gets out of this mess.
But I think that he's making a mistake.
We are not Trumpian America.
Britain is not yet in the position where we are so polarised politically that people are just going to ignore the blatant corruption happening in the White House or the fact that members of Trump's family are getting various contracts and all the rest of it.
Trump has clearly been very effective in
at saying, you know, this is, you know, the establishment trying to shut me down.
And Farage is trying to use the same language.
But I don't think it works because he, you know, this by-election is backfiring, in my view.
I think the fact that you have no major political party standing against him really does make it look like a vanity exercise.
I'm not sure.
I think Lawrence Fox may also be running.
I'm sure there'll be some other characters that will come out of the woodwork.
But I don't know on the two rule.

Well, if Count Binface gets 30%, I think that's quite embarrassing for Farage personally.

I suspect what's happened is he accepted there was a possibility that the standards commissioner could find in a way that could lead to a suspension and a recall petition.
Now, I'm not saying that's guaranteed.
I can't prejudge what the standards commission would do, but that was certainly a possibility.
