He even sort of knocked around and feigned ignorance about the Ku Klux Klan, didn't want to say anything negative about the Ku Klux Klan.
Something deeply disqualifying, something that we said at the time was deeply disqualifying, wrote about in the Washington Post said it was deeply disqualifying.
But after he said it, his numbers just went up with his core supporters in the Republican Party.
So he hasn't normalized it over 10 years.
He normalized it very quickly.
And there's a huge part of the Republican Party that was perfectly fine with that, which is why the party has led us to where they are and why I am no longer a Republican.
Well, you struggle with it because the Republican Party struggles with it because the White House struggles with it.
Most of the people inside the White House have thought for a very long time that Stephen Miller's absolutist position on this doesn't make sense.

Yeah, he set up...
He set up numbers because the last thing he wanted to see and the last thing Trump wanted to see were headlines that said Joe Biden deported more illegal immigrants than Donald Trump.
But as we've tried to explain time and time again on the show, Joe Biden's always going to have higher numbers of deportations.
He let so many people in, and they were just at the border.
And so it was very easy to deport 1,000 or 2,000 or 3,000 people a day when you were letting, I don't know, 1,000, 2,000, 3,000 people in.
So their numbers –
especially when they got serious about closing the border into 23, 24, I think it was, their numbers are always going to be higher.
And what Stephen Miller has found out, but he's not going to stop, and what Donald Trump should have figured out, and I thought he did figure out,
was the political costs of going street by street, neighborhood by neighborhood, community by community was going to be too high for the Republican Party.
Donald Trump's numbers collapsed on immigration.
That should be his strongest number.
