Thank you for allowing me to be on today.
We have a device that is, here's a picture if you can see it in front of you.
So this is a portable battery-powered stimulator.
It connects transcranially, so across your head.
Transcutaneously, it uses gel electrodes behind your two ears.
It provides gentle stimulation.
And what we've shown is that in between three and four days, we can take folks
um we can take their withdrawal symptoms down to close to zero very effectively um initially in about an hour and then over a three to four day period of time and then we received fba clearance for this about two years ago i have a million questions is it excuse me is it mitigating symptoms along the way because day two and three can be quite rough particularly if you're not or should they be treated alongside of that pharmaceutical and pharmaceutically
So this acts in the absence of pharmaceuticals.
It is personalized for the drugs that would be in your system when you are going into withdrawal.
So the pattern of acute withdrawal for opiates is different than the pattern of acute withdrawal for, say, stimulants or sedatives.
And we find that almost everybody that comes into treatment today is a polysubstance user.
What we end up doing is we download a program into this, which is specifically tailored to the substances you have.
And typically, we'll address the opiate symptoms first.
They tend to peak around the first and second day.
And frankly, if you do nothing, they'll abate by the fifth or sixth day.
stimulant symptoms, they tend to show up a little later on in the second day.
Sedatives depends on what you took and how long ago you took it.
So we're going to personalize the treatment that you receive.
We're going to try to push back on the totality of withdrawal symptoms that you have.
