I think that's completely fair to say.

Like I would prefer the guy wax poetic about anything instead of the two word response.
Like we, we, we prefer a guy who's thoughtful, who is introspective like that.
That is pretty cool to see an athlete of that stature be like, yeah, I read before every game.
