I surf for myself and enjoyment.
yeah definitely and being like in a subjective sport like surfing it really pisses you off because there's some things about judging that I don't agree with but you know judging is opinion so it's always a hard one I mean sometimes I wish you it was when when you get those close calls you come to them to wish that
You know, it was a bit more night and day, but sometimes I've probably seen a handful of times in my life where I think the result's completely wrong and probably so do most of the people on the beach and the judges go the other way, but in sport.
There's a lot of it, you know, there's a lot of shaky stuff.
Like I believe for me, the way I like to see surfing, you know, is, you know, really effortlessly kind of,
where it all looks like it flows together on an ice, you know, and some of these guys have that.
And some guys have very jerky, lots of unnecessary movements and do all this stuff and try to- Not stylish.
Not stylish, but also trying to make a simple thing look dramatic.
And I'm like, mate, don't.
Performative movement.
Performative movement.
Dev, after, you know, I guess watching surfing your whole life and stuff and you'll see those guys, you'll be like, that's just unnecessary, mate.
Like there's stuff, majority of the stuff I wouldn't even do today that they can do.
I've never been able to do it.
So, but then there's other things, you know, there's certain waves that really you can see people's flaws in.
Like, so for instance, I think bells, when people are at bells and they're surfing and bells is a wave that, you know, you gotta be patient and can't force too much.
And you'll see someone go out there and they're just trying to force their maneuvers.
Their timing's all off.
