i do get that point but we are operating in that same market that same inflated market so you mentioned wharton i mean he's going to cost you know a ton and granted gaffo could maybe offset some of that so i do sort of understand their argument but i still feel like we're a little light in the forward line and even with these two psg wingers yeah just because they're not

And look, Gaffo is far from a sure thing.

I appreciate that, but as we've mentioned, he's 18.

We have no idea how that's going to sort of materialise.

It's a big gamble.

Even Rio, as amazing as he looks, as exciting a prospect he is, we've not seen him do it across a full season.

We don't know what sort of output we're going to get.

And as I keep saying, we've got a lot of players who've never really played much for Liverpool at all.

So...

It's a difficult one because I can really see the attraction of getting that money for Gakpo, but I think where my worry comes from is that I don't trust Liverpool to reinvest it.

So that's where I'm just like, can we keep them for another season and then maybe get a little less value in the following season when we're a bit more stocked and comfortable where we are.

what I would say is that if it was this time last year we might have been having a similar conversation around Darwin Nunes who you know going backwards he was pulling I was pulling my hair out with his performances he was instantly frustrating me but then the season came by and you know there's injuries there's

And I look at Gakpo... And I'm back.
