I'm thinking hopefully that if he's got his own kind of just identity of this is going to be my role and no one's going to take it away from me, I think that confidence and then the ability to be on the ball a little bit more will only go in his favour this season.
Yeah, and going back to the point I mentioned earlier about not really enjoying going to the games.
This season, if we're looking forward to next season and we start off, as Doug was saying, on the right foot, get a couple of wins behind us, going to the game feels better for us, going to the game feels better for the players.
The players are then going to perform better on the back of
us giving them a little bit more and them giving us a little bit more.
That's a cycle that we built up over time that I felt broke last season.
I think a lot of people were going to the match as kind of like, I gave it to myself and I may as well go, rather than I want to go to the match.
And I think if we've got the players performing for us and us performing for them as a kind of reciprocation kind of thing, I think that can only put us in the right direction moving forward.
And as I said before, with a clean slate, with a new coach, that could be the best thing to do for both players and fans alike.
It's a difficult question because I think their biggest asset this season has been their depth.
the ability to ride bad form or injury situations and there will always be someone who can come out of the pack and get you a winning goal here or there or an assist.
I think that's really what's helped them be able to compete at a high level in both competitions.
And there is going to be some potential movement around the edges of their squad.
There's some players who may want to move on.
I think Ben White has been spoken about that.
I think Jesus is probably going to move on.
Trossard, maybe even Martinelli.
They're looking at bringing in new players on the left wing, those kind of things.
How the squad looks at the start of next season I think will go a long way towards that.
In terms of the style, will anyone catch up or crack the code?
