My takeaway is it says Hezbollah is going to be in Lebanon, and we'll just tell the Israelis not to deal with Hezbollah, and that'll be that.
And that screws the Lebanese people, and it screws the Israeli people.
It's deeply unrealistic.
Because the Israelis aren't going to just sit by like sitting ducks and wait for Hezbollah to bond them.
And then if they do, they're not going to not respond.
And so even on that issue, which could be a third negotiation issue after ceasefire for straits, nuclear talks and regional issues, I don't think we're even going to get there because that jumped the line.
And it's organized in a way that is not going to fly in the real world.
So we're really in a box.
The Israelis – I have to say it.
I think the Israelis are stunned.
By this turnaround, they don't know how they I think they just don't they don't know how this happened.
I could tell them why it happened.
But but but they are stunned because this they are not.
It's your point.
They're not at the table.
I've said this in another place.
I'll say it here in diplomacy.
If you're not at the table, you're on the menu.
And so I think the Israelis and the Lebanese, both American allies, are outside this process looking in, and that creates spoiler opportunities and chaos rather than success.
Boy, don't we wish for the good old days of Hunter Biden corruption scandals, which were so, so minor and almost quaint and never threatened American national security.
