I don't need somebody as a 42-year-old or as an 18-year-old version of me to tell me on the plaque what I need to think about this person.

So for me, I don't think that's necessary.

And I also don't think of the Hall of Fame as a museum, by the way, Dan.

I think of the Hall of Fame as the halo you put on players, the halo that that player is bestowed on for the rest of their lives, that they get to walk around society.

And that also comes with that public attention, comes with the evaluation.

It's a lot different.

And I'm not going to speak to Dale Murphy, but generally speaking, again, you just presume that there was nothing going on.

I want to say this.

So I also came up through the minor leagues where amphetamines were quite common.

The most difficult thing to do in professional sports is to show up every day.

and in baseball specifically, accumulate your plate appearances.
