So as soon as we get there, uh after like thirty minutes or so and I'm hearing the A ten out in the distance having this gun run, the Marines were getting contacted or something.
Uh, the guy who was running the platoon for SEAL team eight grabbed me and the other guys who had just shown up from my platoon.
They're like, Hey, we're gonna have a little brief.
We're just gonna go out tonight and and do a quick quick patrol.
And I'm like, All right.
And so I go into the briefing room, which is just a shack, this like metal tin, like imagine a a a garage that's been gutted of of everything.
There's just a couple of tables and like fold out chairs.
And the team eight guys, they are cowboys.
Like first just all of them are jacked.
Just like there's they're all wearing like shorts and like they have mohawks, they got beards, they've been deployed all this time.
They are like the coolest and most intimidating group.
And they've been doing this for months now.
They they're used to what we're about to do.
And I've never done a combat operation.
And I walk in there.
And uh the main guy, I I forget his name now, but he's like he's a really smart, I think he was a Rhodes Scholar.
And he's like this brilliant guy who became a SEAL.
And he's like, All right, guys, so we gotta do some turnover operations.
He's talking to the teammate guys and now me and the four other new SEALs that have come from team two.
And he's like, all right, so we're just gonna head up to like this mountain range that's near us.
