So I was a slow guy to the plate.
I was always told to pick it up.
I was also an end-of-game type of guy, so my focus was also on hitters and trying to throw strikes, making sure I'm not throwing too many balls and getting guys on the base pass.
But that definitely becomes an issue when you have a team offensively capable like the Nats are, stealing bags like they are,
you have to figure out something, whether it's, you know, just mixing up the times, making sure you are picking once in a while.
I know you're not allowed, you know, I, at times I would just pick four times in a row just because just so like, also, if you did it on the road, fans would boo you.
And sometimes I like that a little bit.
It was just fun to do, but yeah,
It also just slowed the game down for me.
It just made sure, okay, yes, I am going to pick.
You just got to mix up whatever you can, whether it's the looks, the picks, the timing, not falling into patterns of pitch, what you're throwing in certain pitch counts.
Because, you know, guys are stealing.
If they know on a 1-1 count this is what you're going to throw, if you know every two strike that it's going to be an off speed, if they know every two strikes you're just focused on the hitter and you're doing the same timing every single time, they have it down.
They'll know when to steal.
