You must have played with lots of players who you thought were good players and they never made it because they were never spotted.

I mean, now you go to academies, everybody's going to make it.

Whereas back then, so I was lucky.

Or else I would have been an annoying American, wouldn't I?

We just went training with the youth team up at the YMCA where they're on the 16s, on the 17s used to train.

And I did that for a few months and I had one reserve game.
