He leaps the horse off this 15-foot embankment, races down the middle of the creek bed.
Several of the rangers pursue him on horseback.
They fire.
One of the bullets nicks the horse.
The horse stumbles.
Joaquin is thrown to the ground.
He leaps back onto the horse.
The terrified animal continues down the creek bed.
The rangers fire again.
Joaquin is wounded.
Finally, one of the rangers fires a final time.
The bullet tears through Joaquin's body, rips him off the top of the horse.
As the rangers run up
He tells him in Spanish, don't shoot anymore.

It's a fascinating story.
