Much discussed, like maybe the top discussed um topic in pharma that people know about generally is uh pharma pricing and the disparity between the US and internationally, where uh you know all the cost is in RD, the cost of actually producing the drugs is fairly um low.

And so uh single payer health care systems internationally pay very low prices, and so the RD cost is borne by the US.

And the biggest problem is not only like at the margin.

And maybe you have fewer drugs developed uh because this uh phenomenon because you know you have uh fewer returns.

I think honestly the biggest problem is the uh

social issues it cr it creates in the US where uh it turns people against pharma and you know the insulin price disparities between the US and Canada um and things like that.

Which no

You know, I I think we can get into differences between the US healthcare system and the rest of the world, where the US has a very vibrant private healthcare system that is kind of weirdly unpopular, at least in certain parts of the you know, political discussion.

is an instantiation of what I view as the general phenomenon.

One of the biggest shortcomings of the US healthcare system, in my uh view, and one of the biggest critiques you can have is none of the numbers mean anything.

Like just a number that you see, they're all lies.

And that kind of has to lead to market failures.

Yeah, could

But it feels like you could pull on this thread quite a bit, and you know, um the the next admins should of just the numbers should mean something.
