Look, I think in terms of the Warriors, the crowds that the Warriors get and in terms of their social media interaction is Champions League level.
It's way up there.
But when you look at
clubs, the amount of kids playing, the amount of kids teams playing, the amount of club players playing, the schoolboy level rugby, and you add all of that together, then you add the All Blacks coming to town and playing test matches, plus super rugby and everything else.
Can you really honestly say that Auckland has lost rugby now and league has taken over?
I would argue that AFC and football, in terms of the amount of kids are playing in clubs, would probably be on a par with any other participation in terms of sport at the moment, wouldn't it?

I just don't know, even growing up in Wellington, as much as we loved our team, that people wore rugby jerseys around.
