Yes, no great surprise as an entity, uh as as a political personality, Donald Trump is a pretty disgraceful individual and wildly unpopular.

However, Irish people have got the message which has been consistently put out by government, which is that he is the elected president of the United States.

He is the choice of the people.

according to their system.

Therefore it is the office and not the person that that one is receiving and saluting.

And via the office one is acknowledging the good people of the United States of America.

I think it's it is as simple as that.

And I think it does show the the political literacy of the Irish people that they completely get that.

I would think not, and you know, at the end of of tricky uh state visits and state occasions, whether it's the Irish uh dignitaries going abroad or foreign senior bigwigs coming in here, there is a thing at the end called a wheels up party.

It's that moment when the presidential when the posh jet the wheels up.

Come off at the uh off the runway, plane is in the air, that person is suddenly somebody else's problem.

Frequently there's the father and mother of a party or series of parties by the people involved.

I would like to be on the guest list for one or other of those uh come this coming Sunday evening when the Donald hits the sky and goes west.

These these visits ultimately, particularly US presidentials, are you you know, blink and you'll miss them if current affairs and news isn't your thing.
