It's very rare, I think, to have a player and a manager who is loved wherever he goes.

or a manager or even just enjoyed his England team all say the same you know because he had that such a joy for football and you know so much talent obviously but to match that with hard work but also just that love of the game that was it was infectious and you know the football can knock that out of you sometimes the longer you you work in it or even just support it but
He just had that forever, and I think that's one of the many, many reasons, as well as the others that Phil very articulately said why he is so popular.

And I'm slightly older than you, but I used to go with my dad and my dad used to moan if he ever played on the pitch, he was talented, but he wasn't working hard enough.

kind of player and that kind of person you know sticks with the club longer than they're even there because it's an example to everyone you know if your best player is working the hardest then everyone on the pitch has to do the same and then afterwards people are still talking about it and he was loved at Liverpool not just because of the talent he had and because of

I was lucky enough to interview him about seven or eight years ago and we got the chance and it was one of the ones we always wanted and then it came together and someone gave me his phone number and said Kevin I'll speak to you so I rang him up and
um he was great on the phone i said where do you want to do it he said well come to my house if you want and i remember saying to me daddy i'm going to kevin keegan's house and he was like you know what he was it was like i was it was like i was telling him i was going to the vatican to see the pope honestly he was not shocked by it he was not flabbergasted what do you mean you're going to kevin keegan's house i said i'm going around to his house and i went around and he said come in and me and the lad who's producing came in and
He said, come through here.
We sat in his front room.
His lovely wife came in with cups of tea and a big plate of biscuits.
